Machias Seal Island
Machias Seal Island (MSI) is a tiny,
treeless island in the Gulf of Maine off the Downeast Maine coast about
10 miles out to sea from Cutler, Maine.
Getting to the island from the U.S.
requires a 1 to 2 hr. boat ride from either Cutler or Jonesport, ME. The
trip out to the island offers the opportunity to see whales, seals,
porpoise, eagles, osprey and pelagic seabirds.
